About Me

Nice to meet you! I am Diana Calistru, a 24-year-old gameplay programmer from Romania, recent International Game Architecture and Design graduate at Breda University of Applied Sciences.

My toolset includes programming in Unreal Engine and Unity and developing and working within various custom engines. I always strive to bring my best to teams I'm working with, especially through my leadership and soft skills, having taking on the role of Lead Programmer in multiple projects.

I am someone passionate about inclusivity and diversity, being involved in female and non-binary support groups. In 2022 I was one of the recipients of the Google Generation Scholarship for Women in Games and am an alumni for Women In Games International (WIGI).

Why Gameplay Programming?

As a gameplay programmer, I am the one creating the front-end experiences that the player interacts with. Seeing people interface with my work directly is what motivates me and drives me to improve myself.

What also brings me great satisfaction is collaborating within a team and working towards a shared creative vision. As a gameplay programmer, I play a crucial role in the development pipeline, either through bringing the designers' ideas to life or by creating tools to boost my teammates' efficiency.

My Interests

I like spending my time playing video games or gathering around at a cozy locale with a few close friends and enjoying some fun board games.

I also collect and take care of house plants and love it when I cook something for the people around me.

A hobby I wish I had more time for is travelling, since I like learning about other cultures and trying new food.
